Northwest Missouri State University's Madraliers will present their fall concert November 7th.

Conductor for the Madraliers and Professor of Music at Northwest Dr. Brian Lanier says the show will feature a variety of music.

"The repertoire that we are going to be performing for this concert is quite a wide range from music from the Renaissance music all the way to music that was written just a couple of years ago.  The first half of the program will be pretty much an a cappella program, which means that we sing unaccompanied.  We have some spirituals in there.  We have some comic fun things as well."

Lanier says he is most excited for the final two pieces in the show.

"The final piece in the concert is a setting of Gloria that will feature also a 23-piece orchestra accompanying the choir.  And the piece right before that will be a piece called A Genoa, which is a piece of music composed by Icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldsdottir.  And it's a very, I would say, eclectic and unusual piece in that it employees quite a bit of dissidence and some very ethereal sounds.  It's accompanied by a string quintet and features a soprano solo and choir."

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday November 7th in Charles Johnson Theater in the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Building.
